About the Play​

This production was heavily influenced by the political moment of the #metoo movement. We examined when and how women's stories are believed and the cultural phenomenon of scrutinizing women's experiences regarding sexuality and sexual violence. We specifically focused in rehearsal and production on three major areas of inquiry: the intersection of gender and power in family and relationship dynamics, the role and responsibility of the audience members as bystanders, and finally, the utility of Shakespeare and classical theater to a modern audience.
